fter the Student Showcase at the Science Park, I went down to London for Euro gamer in August 2013. It was a great opportunity to meet up with the other ambassadors and see what they have been up to over the summer break. We were invited down to help promote Windows 8 and Windows Phone to gamers and developers.
We arrived Earls Court very early and went to the Microsoft area to start preparing for the event. We interviewed attendees based on their knowledge of Windows and Windows phones and awarded a winner at the end of the event with a free Windows phone.
The crowd seemed to be very impressed with the two games by Rebellion and really enjoyed the Zombies and Judges. It was great to talk to some of the developers at the event and talk to them about the advantages of the platform and some of our own successes. On the second day, we managed to test run some games on the X Box One and Playstation 4 consoles as they had just been released. We also got to meet and discuss with other developers about the process behind creating their games.
The event was another amazing two days experience for me; having to promote the Windows product was a good test of my knowledge and expertise in my field. Also meeting other developers and exchanging ideas with them helped improve my skills and knowledge of programming.
