fter a personal experience I had in 2012, I saw the need to reach out to people in whatever way I could and as a result of that experience, donating blood was the first way that came to mind. So towards the end of 2012, I did the necessary tests and began to donate blood. Some people do not consider it to be enough effort geared towards people that need help, but I have come to realize that even by this little effort, one person could be reaching out to save many lives. It breaks my heart when I watch the news and read the papers and see how people lose their lives because no one is willing to donate blood to them or because their blood match was not found. In my readings, I came to discover that the body circulates fresh blood every 3 months and so the body finds a way to get rid of the old or excess blood. If this is how our body systems work, then it really does not cost us anything to donate blood at least once every 3 months and by doing this simple act, we will be reaching to out to many people out there who are hanging on by a thin thread.
